Sculpture As Medicine
Tyler’s large-scale installations are contemplative, sensory environments created in response to an increasingly overstimulated and disconnected world. These works invite viewers into a slower rhythm of attention, offering spaces for emotional grounding, presence, and reconnection with self, others, and the natural world.
Emerging from this practice is an evolving framework called Sculpture as Medicine, a research-informed approach that integrates sculptural form with plant life, sound, vibration, and light to create environments designed to support embodied calm and nervous system regulation. While still in active development, this methodology reflects an ongoing pursuit of scientific collaboration and deeper understanding of how multisensory art environments may positively influence human well-being.
Works such as The Cosmic Portal and Mesmerite serve both as complete installations and as foundations for future environments that bridge art, ecology, and human experience, positioning sculpture not as static object, but as a living, restorative space.
